Default Grand Rapids Show

Going to head up to GR next week to the show to kill some time. Plan on stopping by PQ to see whats going on (or to read the closed sign). It must be tough out there when 4 Winns announces they have already met there production order numbers so they will be shutting down for a few week.

Seems like a weird statement from Four Winns (if it was normal times). Makes you wonder if they have scaled back the work force only expecting so many orders. And they are not wanting to expand back up quite yet in this economy.

It's hard to say; do you make boats on spec. and hope to sell them? Or do you cut overhead and prepare / wait for the "next new thing"?
Tough call for Four Winns, even more difficult for the new owners of PowerQuest

Maybe not so tough for the new PQ owners - seems they have locked the door again. But who knows - that may be temporary too, until things turn around.

Interesting to look at how many new boats are coming out of traditional builders.

Not trying to start any sh!t storm here - but I've always liked ATs but it doesn't look like they have made a boat for over a year? So maybe when the economy comes back we will see PQ and other names come back.

Those molds are worth a lot - and even if all don't come back with the same brand I bet we see the molds used again.
