2003 280 Silencer Raylar 525 HO

I just wanted to post some of the results of the newly installed Raylar BCK-103 525 HO kit on the 496 HO set up I have.
Previous speeds were 64-65 mph any time of day at 4800-4900 rpm will heavy fuel load and a labbed 26 Bravo 1.

The new speeds we saw was 71 mph gps verified with a non-labbed 26 Bravo 1 spinning 5200 rpm- recommended rpm is 5350 according to Raylar.

I had removed the labbed prop and sent it to BBlades to have some small dings cleaned up and some cup added to free up the bow while the engine was being pulled....I will post the results with this prop when I get it back in a few weeks or so....
I was a skeptic and now a firm believer....THANKS Ray!!!!!
Mike.

Congrat's but I think you need to play around with the prop, aybe a 28p? I'd be surprised if 71 is all you can get out of it. I have mentioned this several times, but the previous owner tweaked every last mph out of my 280 and the best result he got was adding a 1" drive spacer, apparently it allowed the prop to get into cleaner water and he picked up a couple mphs.

I agree with playing with the props. BBlades is working their magic on the 26 Bravo 1 that I sent them.....adding more cup to pull the bow up as it rides very flat and the slip factor is really high a re-pitch is in the works too . Talking with Brett at BBLades there is still 2-4 mph left to be found in the prop set up.
I have a handfull of props to test yet...3 blades also Mirage Plus' The ice only left a couple of weeks ago so in the next few weeks i will try to get out to the lake.
The drive spacer will be next years project if anything....
I'll have to borrow the kids candy money if I keep it up...lol!

Wink

Thanks for the Kudo's Verbi69, I love those skeptical new customers, its hard to hide the heavy brow and scowel through that big sh** eating Grin on their faces when they hit the sticks after a Raylar upgrade to a 496! Have fun this season with your toy and stay safe and keep it on the running bottom!

Congrats,
Ray @ Raylar
