Default Looking for a gps/chartplotter

I am looking for any info or suggestions for purchasing a gps/chartplotter. I am not looking to spend a fortune. Just need a basic unit to keep me off the break wall and get me home. Also must have depth finder. Would also be nice to have water temp.

I bought a Lowrance HDS5 Lake Insight. What an awesome unit for the money. Great mapping and detail. I have a 280 Silencer and boat primarily on the great lakes, this unit was worth every penny.

I have a raymarine "C Series" on my Bertram and love it. I have a Garmin (I think it's a 450S) on my 280 Powerquest......piece of junk.

Default RayMarine thumbs up!

Another vote for the Raymarine "C" series. We bought a re-conditioned unit (70 series) off their website and have been very happy with it, and the factory support. Buy the base unit then add what-ever optional equipment you want / need.
