I have a 29Ft PQ with 454's and run 25p three blade mirage. Top speed is around 66-68mph due to 500 extra pounds of stereo equipment. If I have three to five people, coolers, and a full tank I'll top out around 64mph.

@3000rmps=35-37mph
@3200rpms=40-42mph
@3500rpms=49-50mph
@4400rpms=66-68mph with two people and cooler

I'm turning my props out now, but might try turning them in this summer. I've been told I might pick up another 2-3 mph in the process.
Hope this helps.

judging by the pictures on the sellers website the boat looks to be well above average condition. It has all the right equipment.....502's, steering, choice and a killer stereo system. i don't usually give much consideration to stereo systems when looking at boats to buy but that stereo looks amazing. It's a little concerning to me that with all of the money spent on that boat that it would be under propped, just doesn't make any sense. It would be hard to buy that boat if it is only running 55-60 mph and hope the right props would bring it up to 70+,where it should be. wouldn't it be hitting the rev limiters? How can you run that boat like that? Sounds like DRWATTS was ready to buy this thing, wondering if there is something wrong with it besides the prop issue? anybody? i am kind of interested in it and i am not really that into powerquest i am more of an 1980's formula ethusiast, but this PQ looks pretty nice!

Do a seach in the powerquest for "ckentling". I think he is the one who did all the upgrades. I remember reading about them and seeing pictures while he was doing them. I don't know if he still owns the boat or not?

I just picked up a 1992 290 with 502s, with 23 P mirage props on it. The previous owner said it ran in the 72-75 range. I guess I'm gonna have to wait another couple weeks to find out!

Skoboat, I'm in louisville, and will mainly be on Nolin and Cumberland. Mid to late summer after all the trees are done floating down the river, I'll be out there too! Hope to make it to Dale Hollow (where the old owner was at a lot), and also want to make it to Kentucky a couple times too!

I am down around the Evansville area. You will really enjoy the ride of the 29'! We enjoy ours and see 70-72 on GPS. I am running my props spinning inwards. Hope you have a good summer with your new boat!
