Looking to join the PQ family
The time has come to where I can finally purchase my first boat. I grew up in Charlevoix where I spent nearly every day during the summers on Lake Charlevoix on my parents 279 Slickcraft. I've been waiting for this time to come and truely excited.
I've been looking at a 1993 PowerQuest 270 Laser with twin 350's. The boat looks to be in good condition, nothing short of long weekend of detailing and few hundred dollars in parts and I think it would be a great boat. Owner says 400-500 hours(not sure why they skipped installing the hour meters on this boat). Nothing has been rebuilt and I am hoping to see service records next week for a second look. Just looking for a good all around boat that we may be able to camp a night or two out on the lake in. What do you think its worth? The boat is a little bigger then I was looking for, but the price is right i think.
Anything I should be looking for?
I am sure I will have a lot more questions as I go forward.

Nice boat, and has Bravos! 350's run forever. Get a compression check done and go for it. I'm no appraiser, but I would guess $18-20k would be a reasonable number. Anything less would be a no brainer..................

Great looking Laser...identical to mine except I have a single 7.4l and swivel buckets not bolsters. Same colours, interior, white rail package, etc. Awesome boat and I'll be sad when it sells but it sold me on the brand and move to the 380. You'll be very happy with it!

I would definitely get a survey done. I would want to make sure the transom and stringers are solid.

Definitely Alpha's. I told him I would give him a deposit, but before he gets full payment we will be doing a water trial and an inspection. Ready for spring now.
Initial needs is two new batteries, fix the surge brakes and some routine maintenance to get it ready. Hopefully it stays that way.
Freaking geeked for some warm weather.
