Differences in 280, 290 and 300???

have a buddy looking for a PQ in this range and not entirely sure what the differences are.

300 seems the newest and step bottom but all I've seen have been out of his price range. Differences between 280 and 290 is not as obvious. Would likely start with stockish power but would like to run a decent number - 60-70s.

Looking at mid-90s and up, 28-30 with or w/o power, single is fine.

Any input from the PQ crowd is appreciated.

The 300 is going to have basically the same amount of interior space as a 290 (a ton) but I was impressed with how much more engine bay room it had... Not to mention its performance numbers are better. The 280 is definitely a sweet ride also, the top deck and interior actually is more similar to the 300 than the 290. Obviously if I had to pick between the three I would go 300 based off of the speed numbers, but there are some good deals out there on 280's and 290's right now and the price difference may make up for some mph!

Ive owned 290s and 300s never a 280...

290 and 300 are both great boats but 2 tottally different boats..hard to compare..

I think the 280 is a smaller version of the 300..

the 290 is straight 23 degree deadrise hull..

the 280 is a single step 24 degree deadrise hull

the 300 Revenge is a twin step 23.5 degree deadrise hull..

280 is a totally diferent boat from a 290. i have owned both. 290 is very big for a 29 footer. you really need to decide weather or not you want twins. 280 is a great boat for its size if you want a single engine boat. my 280 is available also. 175 hours on a trailer...turn key 75mph. about the same price as the rest of them.

Perfect, thanks guys. Looks like the 280 is at the top of his list. Found several that he likes under $30k. Some really good deals out there for sure.
