Default Removing a access panel?

I need to replace the control box (right tab switch is not working, tried replacing it, but it still does not work) for my Lenco trim tabs and it's located under the throttle controls on my 280SC. There is no way to get under there except for a cushion/access panel on the side wall just under the throttle controls. Does anyone know for sure if that cushion can be removed to gain access under the throttle controls and if so, how do you remove it? I'm not 100% sure it can be removed, but that's the only way I can see that would give me access to under those controls.

Thanks,
Brad
