That takes the "fun" out of looking, when a boat is misrepresented, but MI isn't THAT far, is it? The 312 in Texas does look nice, but that will be a haul. It's winter so I'd make the trip if I were you. Did you check out a particular 340? If it is a 2000 or newer with steps, that will help with the top end. As you know the 312 was a single step boat. Mine had a 454 Mags (385) and would reach 72. The '02 340 I had 496 mag HOs(425) and would see mid to upper 70s. The only thing I didn't like about the Formula was the lines you could see in the sides of the hull. Being a '97 and first year of the Fastechs they blamed it on the adhesive they were using for the inner grid.
It would come down to condition, hours, price, and colors if I were to buy either boat again.
(By the way. are you taking your FantaZ to the Musclecar/Vette Nationals in Rosemont this weekend? We're coming from MI on Sat, it's always a good show!)

well what should I expect as far as top speed with mags? I keep going back and forth on the boat because its a great deal! but Some posts scare me. People talking about hull issues? then wiring issues? its a really nice boat but it has been in salt water. is that an issue?

as far as the car.. just sold my twin turbo motor out of it because i bought a 88 mustang 25.5 car and no use for two race cars. Gonna park the camaro for a year or two till im bored with the mustang.

Everyone talking about early 00 boats having hull issues. How do I find out if its an early one or later 00?

Thumbs up

The only issue i could see is speed. Mine is an early 00 and I have had no issues. With the 500efi's I get 72mph and as I understand after the hull change they were seeing upper 70 to lower 80. You can tell the diff. by looking at the transom under the lift eyes. The older hulls had about 3" under the
eye, the later hulls had about 1 1/2"from the eye to the bottom.

With the old hull, yes.
Check with Pwradder, I think I know what's up his sleeve.

I thought that was on the avenger. I have the "new" hull and I have more than 1.5

Yes, I know the bilge plugs look like $hit, I have since bead blasted them and reinstalled.
