Default 93 290 gauge upgrade questions

We are updating the original gauges in the 290. We went with Hardin marine gauges and it isn't a simple plug and play. Old style terminals are spade and Hardin marine accepts ring terminals. Switching out the terminals isn't the problem, that is easy. On certain gauges , the old have more or less posts than the new ones. Looks like pq sporadically jumped grounds as well. Anybody come across this or have any suggestions on what they might have done or how to fix it?

you may have to change out sending units to or find the wiring diagram for the senders... just an idea

As has been mentioned before, you can run a heavy-gauge wire from battery ground up to the helm on a bus bar. You could do the same thing with the 12v side, fused obviously, instead of the jumpering PQ did.
