How do the non-step 34's and 38's perform?

Just curious as to how the pre-step hull 34's and 38's perform? I'm guessing low 70's with a pair of 502's? More importantly, how is the ride and handling?

Thats something you don't hear about to often I'm guessing more like high 60's low 70's. I'm also guessing that they were only built in 97?? mabey 96.

Out of all my past talks with PQ that is something that never came up. Why would you build a boat for one year then change the whole bottom design? If MK reads your post he will have the correct answers

My non-step 34 with 454/385 will do 72 on gps. Great in rough water.

My 34 with 502's topped out at 73.4 on a fall day. I was the only one on board with about a 1/4 tank. It was a 96 and we like the boat a lot. Only somedays did I wish I had more length (38) when running in rough on Lake Erie.

The first 38 was finished in October 1995 and the 38 was not stepped until the 1998 model year.

The non-stepped 38's ran in the mid to high 60's with 502 MPI's. They were very good running/handling boats.

340's were solid running and topped out in the low 70's with 502's.

They are both good boats.
