Default Excited about owning a PQ!

I've just ordered my PQ 260 and they have told me I have 6 weeks to wait for delivery. I have been reading the different posts over the past several days and that has sparked many questions.

For now, I have a simple question. Is there anyone out there with a 260? And if there is can you tell me what the measurement is from the prop to the tongue of the trailer.

I may have a storage issue!

Jef,
Welcome to the Powerquest family! I have a 98 260. I just went outside and took a quick measurement in the dark. From the tongue to the prop is about 28 feet. With the drive up it's almost 29 feet. Good luck with your boat, we love ours! What power did you get in yours? If you have any questions feel free to give me a shout.

Thanks Gary! I was hoping it would be less than 30'.

For power I only have the 6.2 (320hp). I just couldn't swing the extra cash for anything bigger. I hope I am not dissapointed.

Once I take delivery and get into the water, I'm sure I will have many questions on prop choices.

What do you have for power? How fast? Does it plane off quickly?

Thanks again for your reply. Your help is appreciated.

Jef,
I have a 454 mag. non EFI. 350 hp. I'm swinging a 21 pitch Mirage plus at 5050 rpm's. The hole shot is awsome! I get 62.7 gps at wot with a full tank and 4 people. I would think that you will be only a tad slower. Your engine package is lighter than mine with only a 30 hp diff. If I had to guess I would think 58-61 at wot. See what prop comes with it. It should be a Mirage plus, I'm thinking a 19 or a 21. Keep in touch, I'll help you out!

Just a thought for ya. Since PQ is building you a boat; did your dealer let you know you can choose many things for you boat n/c. You can tell them where you want color on the seats, coaming panels, valances. You can choose color of carpet, bezels, color of rim on Gafftig gauges, color of shifter. You can choose a different design on the sunlounge, etc. You can "have it your way" You caan also send up a few disposable cameras, and PQ will take pictures of your boat as it is being built.

Here are some things I did when I ordered my 280 & 340:

Graphics: Matrix as drawn by PQ refer to PQ drawing
1. Royal Blue - Outside edge of Stripe
2. Citrus yellow- first part of fade near bow
3. ITZ Red- Last part of fade near stern
4.Green- pinstripe in graphic

Cabin:
carpet: Grey
valances: Yellow
V-berth vinyl: Solid white
Cabin Seats(edge): white
Lizzerette accents: Black

Canvas:
Blue

Sun Lounge:
Use Riptide graphic on sunlounge
colors: refer to photo sent
1. Royal Blue
2. Citrus yellow
3. ITZ red

Bolster colors:
stripe around bolster:
Top stripe: Royal Blue
Bottom Stripe: Citrus Yellow
Inside lumbar area: Top-ITZ Red Bottom- Yellow

Helm:
Gauges (& Depth finder) rim color: yellow
Bezel Color: Blue
Mech Trim indicator: Blue bezel
Throttle color: blue

Additional Info:
1. Run wire for subs (X2)
2. Delete remote on sunlounge
3. Hour meters to be installed in front of shifter.

Cockpit:
Grey Cockpit carpet
STD Grey Dash
Cupholders: Red
Coaming surround panel: ITZ red

Welcome to the PQ family. Enjoy your boat. Send us some pics when it's done.

Gary,

I checked with PQ Factory and they told me that the prop that would come with the boat would be a 21 Mirage Plus....just like you thought

I just hope I get to spin it this year!!

Bill,

I made some calls and emails and did get some things on the boat "just the way I want them" Just like you said "No charge"

I just finished working out some details on the cockpit accent colors.

So far here is what I got..

Impulse graphics (purple, yellow)

Purple bezels, cup holders, carpet, cockpit cover, trailer

Purple and yellow accents

Purple carpet in cabin, white cushions

"PQ" logo on sun deck....yep purple and yellow.

I really wanted to add Lime green to the mix but PQ doesn't have a satisfactory green for my liking.

My dealer wasn't all that helpful in telling me all my options. I'm not sure if he even knew of all the different things a buyer can change with n/c. The PQ website and brochure is not very helpful at all.

BUT Mandi at PQ has been a great help!! She tells me the boat is in lamination.

I almost forgot....I had to go with the windshield.

Jef,

Literally as BillR said (we ordered our boats during the same time frame last year) you can get ANYTHING you want colored. Just make sure that you let them know before they start the vinyl or it will cost you.

You can add a color to the top "head rest" on the bolsters if you like. I wish that I did since I have purple and yellow also. I would have done yellow sandwhiched between purple with the PQ logo stitched in black. It would look AWESOME!!!

If you want pics of my 34 during and post construction to see what I am talking about email me at:
[email protected]
I will get you some awesome shots to fuel your color decision making process!

Jef, every thing sounds nice on your colors, just beware that purple cockpit carpet is very hot ON BARE FEET. Also the purple cockpit cover will look nice on the boat, but the inside of the boat will be extremely Hot. I have green and in the summer I can not touch the white vinyl after taking my cover off, if the sun has been out for a couple hours.

Jef welcome to the PQ family.

I've owned two at this time and will own a third. PQ builds a great boat. It is nice that you live fairly close to the factory. You should take a day and run up there while your boat is being built and take a look around.

Since you live in Princeton I am assuming you bought it from Tim at Riverview Marine. It is nice to have a dealer that close but I think Tim knows more about Fountain then he does about PQ's.

Will you be boating the Ill river? If so maybe I will see you one day. We sometimes boat out of Peoria and run up to LaSalle. I own a 29 called Thumpers Evil Twin.

Again congrats on your new boat you should love it.
