Question Prop selection...

PQ guys,
a good friend of mine has purchased a 1995(or 6) 257 Powerquest. The boat is powered by a Bulldog and I believe the boat was supplied with a Mirage 3 blade. He has brought this boat home to our elevation in Utah from Texas and will need to re-prop for hp losses.
Question is, what seems to be the best performing prop for this boat? Pitch will be a trial and error process but he can at least start with the right type of prop

Thanks in advance,
Dave

My 260 liked the Mirage Plus the best. The 4 blades provided too much stern lift. This was with stock power and with non-stock power.

Mine came with 28p Bravo's and I got 4950 RPM regularly at 79 MPH GPS speedo. I then put on some 30P Merc labbed Bravo's and got all the way to rev limiter at 5250 while just getting 80 mph GPS.

BTW, Vyper340 gets a regular 80.5-81 mph GPS with standard, non-labbed 28p Bravo's (the boat, year, and power is exactly the same as mine except he has the windscreen and I have the windshield). I wish I could get that speed and be as fast as Vyper340!!! I guess I'll have to settle for being the slower PQ in our group...

Whoa!!!!
Vyper340 typed in the above message from my computer while I was away. I guess that is the ONLY way his boat will be faster than mine.

That IS pretty funny though!!! LOL!!!

Sure... retract it just when we all thought that you were finally making a breakthrough and confronting the brutal truth.
