Hi to all, i have a 2002 Baja 232 with a 6.2 mpi. Love the craft, it has a 19 pitch Mirage Plus prop. Does anyone know what the best prop to run on this craft. i mostly cruise around at about 4200 rpm. speedo is out so i don't know mph. wanted to get a 2nd prop in case i boo boo one up. Thanks Lynn

Re: Baja 232 Prop ??

Why such a tiny prop what are you WOT rpm's ?? and gps speed... My 96 232 with 300 hp ran with a 23 mirage plus, which was o.k. but a labbed 24 B1 would proabably be best overall for holeshot, midrange and handling..

Re: Baja 232 Prop ??

What is your WOT RPM? You need to run at about 5200 RPM at WOT.

What is your WOT MPH via GPS?

You may be on the rev limiter.

If you are looking for best all around performance especially mid range cruise speeds, consider the Bravo 1 4BL. It works great at cruise without sacrificing too much top end on your V hull configuration.

However if your not on the rev limiter, we really love the Rev4 propeller in 19 and 21 pitch. It's extremely fast for a 4BL propeller with good mid range and planing ability. It has an aggressive design with the benefits of 4 blades.

Re: Baja 232 Prop ??

The recommended operating range is 4800-5200 RPM at WOT. So something is not quite right. When you are recording your WOT RPM, are you are trimmed for speed? This will influence your RPM. If you are trimmed for speed then we need to look at each number used when calculating slip and individually and confirm them:

Numbers used to calculate pitch:

Prop pitch accuracy
Tach accuracy
Confirm gear ratio
Verify gps

Re: Baja 232 Prop ??

check your tach. Had the same motor in my 02 252 islander. would spin the 19p to 4900 rpm's.
And mine was running 56 to 59 gps depending on conditions.

Are you sure it's a 19P? U might borrow someone elses 19p just to make sure.
