Default What pitch to go with? (4700 rpm w/ 25p)

Just installed my Dana exhaust on a stock carb'd 454 magnum. It does have a edelbrock performer rpm air-gap intake.

Picked up 2mph, but rpms are still down at 4700rpm wide open. Ran both a mirage and turbo 1 25 pitch props.

Should I go with a 23 or 24 pitch? I'm looking to run 5100-5200 rpm.

Each inch of ptich is equal to 200 RPM. So I would recommend that you try a 23P of like diameter and blade design this will increase your RPM about 400 to the 5100 you are looking for.

Mirage Plus propellers don't come in 24 inches of pitch or we would suggest a Lab Finished version. What speed are you running at WOT? Labbing the 25 to 5000 rpm may be the best idea for top speed, and wouldn't sacrifice as much mid range speed as the 23 or 24 would.

I'm running 68mph on GPS at 4700rpm. Really hoping to hit 70 with the extra 400rpm. Who should do the labbing?

Labbing for 400 rpm may raise the slip too high or reduce pitch that may hurt the cruise speeds and reap smaller top end gain.

We recomend Labbing with a formula for 250-300 rpm gain and you should achieve your goal.
