lab props RPM gain
I was reading a note on the Mercury site and it stated
"Lab Finishing service to all Trophy or Tempest propellers, expect to see 150 RPM gain so typically you can move up 1" of pitch"
Why do you gain RPM with lab finishing?

Re: lab props RPM gain
There are several contributing factors that result in the RPM gains experienced thru the lab finishing process.
It is the specific adjustments which will cause this. For instance a propeller will physically weigh less after lab finishing therefore it will produce a higher RPM as it is physically lighter. When the cup is removed this will also increase the RPM. Patterning and pitching the blades to a higher tolerance will produce higher rpm's. So when it is all said and done you will experience and increase in RPM.
