Scarab III props
hey guys i just picked up a 1989 Scarab III with stock 365 Mags and Bravos. just wondering what a good prop would be. right now it has 23" Quicksilvers. i havent even had it in the water yet. i know the boat will not be a hard charger but would like to get the best prop on it for its current power. thanks all

I agree...I switched from 21" Mirage 3 Blade to 24" Hydromotive Quad IV's when I went up in HP. What a difference.

Re: Scarab III props
I would get a little seat time and then baseline your props and start testing props to see what props help you to achieve your goals.

Re: Scarab III props
thanks guys. i did take note of your recomendations from the other threads and will start with those. actually DMC i was gonna contact you as i didnt know what Q-IV was, not real familiar with what is out there. i see that it is Hydromotive Quad IV's.
Julie i will have the boat in in a few weeks and will get some base numbers to work with. what kind of prop is the quicksilers that i have? are they just an OEM type prop?

Re: Scarab III props
It's hard to tell which props you have. There are a number of Quicksilver prop designs out there. If you have what is typically referred to as a "Quicksilver" prop it is typically a common prop that is put on by OEM's and is sold today as the Mercury Vengence. It's a standard type prop that is a step above an aluminum prop.

thanks Matt . . . i guessin the are the props that came on the boat.
DMC our big poker run is going to be run out of Put-in-Bay this year in july might be a good time to get some of these things together. cant wait to get this thing in the water. its going to be a great step up from my Scorpion.
