How about some specifics? What were you running before and how did the Hydro perform?

Close friend has a Y2K also, he has been running the Merc Maximus 5b. 496 Mag HO Whipple, runs 80+, he swears by the prop. Believe he cut diffuser off as well. Contact your builder tell him you need to get in touch with Cary with the black hull from Syracuse N.Y. or I could PM his number to you, let me know. He is a good guy and fussy on his set up, might be able to help you. BTW the Y2K is a very impressive hull.

I just added a whipple this winter. So far only a 5 mph gain top end but big jump in cruise. Just curious if the extra torque would get even higher cruise and maybe help up top.

I added whipples too and tried my 5 blades and got about 13 mph with them.tried a 32 stock 4 blade and got about 20 mph.5 blades where great to get on plane and increase in the cruise area.Top speed they didn't help.

They definitely have different personalities. The Maximus has one advantage in that the prop is bigger at 15 5/8" diameter allowing for more options in the mods. and application set ups. However, the P5-X can run great right out of the box on the correct boat and drive height.

Both props are awesome on the correct application.

Superbabi is also running a Maximus on his Y2K.
I would bet the larger diameter would realy help with your high X-dim.

I think you first need to spin the prop in the right direction
Dang lefties.

Call Bret, he will get you set up correctly. Maybe we could get a bulk rate on shipping

we just about finished a whipple recently. running hydromotives on a 38 fountain. saw about 14 mph so far. going to start looking for another 3 or 4 with props and maybe drive heights. if you need to try something I have different props around and i am on the hudson.
