Need help propping a Baja 322
I just bought a Baja 322, it has 454 mags, bravo with 1.5 ratio, it has mirage (not plus) 23p (not labbed) I'm sure I'm a little under propped, I was out today and it was showing 75mph on speedo (not GPS) and it would turn 5400 rpm's. It was in fresh water, 640' elevation, 60 degrees 1'-2' chop, 2 people 1/4 tank of fuel. I'm not sure what else you might need to help, but just ask. It doesn't seem to have much prop slip so I'm thinking I can stay with 3 blades.
I just came out of a Baja with 272 and with a 3 blade it would blow out bad, I switched to a 4 blade bravo and it was alot better but 2mph slower.
What would you pros recommend? Thanks, JB

Are your 454's stock motors? You really should be running much less RPM if they are. They should run at about 5000 RPM at WOT. So you need to decrease your RPM by 400. This will require a taller pitch propeller and you will probably see greater top end. This is all under the assumtion that your motor is a stock 454 Mag. THe 3B props will probably produce better top end and the 4B props will handle better, as you have experienced.

Yes they are stock, and I THINK I would like to stay with 3B props. And I know I need to bring the RPM's down 400 but I don't what pitch to go with. Thanks

Going to the 25 Mirage Plus series may pull the rpms down 500+rpm. Small adjustments can then be made to the propeller to get you exactly where you want to be. I would start with those propellers and work from there. if you need test props, let us know.
