Default Hey Julie, I need a prop

Looking for advice, and to try a prop...

I have a 24' Four winns Liberator, that had a 350 mag before pushing a 17P merc stainless prop at 4600 RPM.

With my new motor (383, guessing around 400HP) it blows this prop out at any RPM's higher than 4600-4700. The motor I have is built for max torque at about 4500, max HP at about 5500.

Some advice I am getting from others who have drove the boat are saying a 23P is what I want. That sounds too big for me. I am thinking 21P, and am open to types. (I want stainless, of course)

Thanks

James

Hello James,

It was nice talking to you today. I think we have a great game plan. Let me know how things work out.

Thanks Julie,

I went to the marina I spoke of, and he highly recommended the new vensura prop. He had his 21 loaner out, so he gave me the 19. He also did not recommend the Mirage plus for small blocks or alphas???? He said a Laser would be better suited for my boat. (He has seen it, but not seen it run)

I will let you know how the trials go. Whats your thought on the Vensura's?

Thanks

James

I have yet see a boat run well on the top end with a Vensura (Offshore 4).

Let us know how the Mirage works for you.

We repropped the same boat a few weeks ago... but with BB 454 365 Hp... So more or less same Hp's as yours

22 P 4 Blade Bravo 1 was the best prop... Changed complete riding of the boat (acceleration, midrange & topspeed)

Topspeed was 58-60 Mph @ 4900-5000 RPM

If you want more RPM's (+ 300) , just go by a 22 P labfinished
