identifying prop

I have a 32 pitch merc 4 blade prop that was labbed by a unknown shop. It has a # stamped in the main body-3066 and a V stamped or etched in the area where hub goes, does anyone know who might have done it shop wise? I also have a 30 pitch merc labbed prop labbed by merc,it has a shinier finish than the 32 so I doubt the 32 was done by merc. Single v boat, runs 89.5- 89.7mph gps w/30 pitch at 5900rpm's w/boat 3/4 loaded down and 4 passengers,92.8 w/32 pitch at 5700 rpm's if load is light enough, other wise it just accelerates slower w/32 pitch and labors harder and runs about 89-90 at 5400-5500,any insight? I also have a merc 4 blade non-labbed 32 that just sucks all the way around, boat stern lifts,tq twist and is fairly sluggish, runs about 87-88mph around 5200-5300. I might get that prop worked for something in between my 30 and 32 labbed.Motor peaked at 944 hp at 5600 but barely dropped just a few hp until 5900 and tq peaked at 962 at 4500. I'm also running a stellings box with drive moved back a foot,I did have drive raised 1" above stock but boat cavitated around 3000 rpm's,blew prop out sometimes and porpoised from 2800-4000. I installed a 1" drive spacer which brought boat back to normal and got rid of all the nasty side effects of going up the 1",thanks,Smitty

Re: identifying prop

If you get rid of your labbed 30, let me know. I run a labbed 28 now and would like to try a 30.

The 30 pitch has proven to be the best all around prop for my boat so far,the biggest thing I don't like is I may start out a day of boating fully loaded and towards end of day I get gas down to a third of tank and drop passengers off to go out and make a couple high speed passes and boat literally is on the rev limiter at 5900/6000 and it sucks to pull boat out just to change prop for a few passes, maybe labbing the 32 non-labbed to something 1/2 way between would work but it may be the 32 labbed I have is already that way,not sure,Smitty

Hey Smitty,
I am looking for a RH 32 non labbed if you decide you don't need.

Smile Re: identifying prop

The 3066 could be a couple things. The V is a pouring code and person at Merc.
