Worth the Money
Are Herring props worth the extra cost over the Bravo's and Hydromotive's props? I would assume that the Bravo's and Hydro's would have to be Labbed for a fair comparison.

Re: Worth the Money
It depends on what you are looking for from your prop. In my opinion and experience after Key West this year I would only run one propeller and it is not any of the ones you listed above. It is the propellers being CNC'd by Matt and Julie from Throttle UP, they are the best handling and best acceleration props I have ever had on the boat and I have raced all of them.

Re: Worth the Money
Man I gotta agree with Bryan, Throttle up are the ONLY props I use. Matt are Julie are "Hands On" in their business and always willing to talk to you about the different props they have. They have made "The Flying Condo" FLY for the last five years with a National and World Title, not to mention we were inducted into The SBI/APBA/UIM Hall Of Champions using their props. They're a little nuts but worth my time and money. Give them a call, it may be worth it to you too! Regards, Augie

Re: Worth the Money
The new Throttle-UP CNC props are by far the best prop I have ever raced.
I did alot of testing for Mat in the early stage and we spent countless hours testing and then testing again. Without a doubt this is the faster prop I have ever run...I found 2-3 MPH just in props.

Re: Worth the Money
I have to agree with all above. I have been apart of the Throttle up family for about 5 years now and when I first put my team together getting the boat out there became the priority and props were the after-thought. I went with another brand. Needless to say we made it out there, but got crushed everytime. We finally got our act together and ordered a CNC'd 5 blade from TU and finished 3 secs out of first in its debut. From getting lapped to 3 seconds behind is monumental in my eyes and I swear I will never cheat on Matt and Julie again.
The best thing I like is that if for any reason I damage the prop beyond repair(which unfortunatly happens to any propeller) I can have the same exact prop at my doorstep within the week, which saves me on re-dialing in a prop.
Drag, they have worked on Herring, Bravo, and Hydro's for years now and they will put your boat in the right prop for your budget and needs of your vessel even if it isnt one of their CNC'd props. I cant tell you how great their props are though. Its amazing! Great people to do business with.
Plus the "Godfather" told you to call them. Your kind of obligated now.
Trent

Re: Worth the Money
Most of the responses are from race boats. Do you think the labbed CNC'ed props from Throttle Up work well on stepped v-hauls? Have their been any tests on boats similiar to mine? I am considering going with shorties and finding the right prop. Thanks.

Rebel,
Yes we are racers but I run a 29 Fountain Fever(stepped vhull), Frank is in a 30 Extreme(stepped vhull), and Augie in a 38 Scarab. I can remember a time when Augie ran races with his fridge in the boat. These are the same hulls that are availible to everbody. Just because we race, doesnt mean that our boats are all that exotic or different than any pleasure boat out there. Our testimonies are based on as racers we expect nothing but the best in performance and Throttle Up just happens to offer it.

Re: Worth the Money
I am sold after meeting Matt and Julie in K.W. this year for the November races/Worlds. The only thing is that after I returned to work and tried to contact them, I am at a 4 or 5 to one ratio. Four or five calls and e-mails to one returned e-mail. That scares me.
If I need a "replacement" sent, or a change made, how do I get ahold of them reliably. According to Julie, this is the slow season!!! Maybe I need to get to know them. What advice can you offer? Please advise.

Re: Worth the Money
Organized, I don't know why you can't reach them ??? I can get Matt and Julie about 24/7. I have NEVER delt with anyone that is more customer friendly. If we need a prop they make sure we get them no matter what time it is. They have traveled an hour out of their way to bring us props to test. As Frank said , we did nothing to the boat other than change the prop and we picked up 2 to 3 mph !!! They can custom tune your props to find which ones work best, keep the data and if you ever need replacements, just cut another one for you. Throttle Up is the only prop of choice for the open model Extreme F1 race boat or the pleasure model. We have hour after hour testing with props including all the props up at X-Site......Throttle Up performs better than ANY we have run so far. Their knowledge and customer support is second to none !!! Dave

Re: Worth the Money
Lets take in account that these CNC props are still new to the market place. Most of the testing has been done with race boats , and you will see alot more peasure set-up out there very soon. Matt is working as hard and as fast as he can to fill the orders.
