changing props ??
i have a 30' villian IV w/454's/330 .......rpms at wot 4800-5000. 59 mph on gps. i am currently running 3 blade mirage 23's...... i have found a set of 23 4 balde cleavers. i have not tried them yet. what kind of performance changes can i expect with these 4 bladed props. would appreciate any input or experiences.

Theoredically speaking, the rpm will come down, the transom will ride higher and the cruise may be better (slightly). Your slip is high now at WOT but the cleaver design still may not help the top speed on your hull.
Most important we don't know what has been done to the props.
Best thing to do is carefully test them.

thanks brett for your reply,
i finally did get a chance to test the props.....turned out they were not 23's but 27's.....i decided to test them anyway......rpm's came way down .......props were just to big....however i did like the way the boat plainned off handled once on top........lost alittle mph also.......could tell the engine was lugging.....so that puts me still looking for a set 15x23 4bladed cleavers right and left......would also consider a set of 15x24's right and left.....anyone have any ideas on where i may find these?
thanks
