Default px5 30 how bad on a bravo x drive

I talked to a few on baja site and they think the 30- 5 blade would be a lot worst than a b1 32 or 34, hp is high 3600 to 4000lb 24ft boat motor is going to be about a 1000hp, drive has tower, heavy cap and may get 11/4 prop shaft. so would I be nuts going with the px5 30 labbed, or should I stick with the 4 blade, I was told it would tq over the hull and flip it, and just destory the drive even if I don't nail it while on plane. anyone else run any think like this. thanks

I highly doubt that would happen. Either way, I think 1000hp in a 24 OL is a death wish. The boat was never designed to go that fast and is way beyond the limits of the hull.

My buddy has a ThrottleUp tuned 30 P5X (actually I think he is selling it) and it was pushed by 1000hp in 4600 lb boat and it did done of the spooky stuff you mentioned

Actually ran smooth as silk and didn't do any torque rolling at all at appx 100mph. Max Machine drive held up well with it. Actually broke teeth twice with a Bravo 32.
There's actually several guys over on the Nordic section running these with big power.

on other sites theres close to 10 ols24s that run high 90s to 108, I've talked to owners the boat is more of a chinewalker in the 76 to mid 80s but calms down after and if set up like mine with full hyd steering, a shortie [stock drive height was to deep], the boat should be fine my ran mid 80s before with 380s k planes and add on stairing 2'' shortie . with my 670hp I did get some chinewalk at 78 , but did not have the full steering , for handling I leave my buddies 24 superboat 550hp in the dust in calm water or rough, and when I stuffed my boat back in 94 my hull did't separate like that 99 24 SB did on LI NY.. With a lili reinforcement those bajas do just fine we are making some changes to mine but with 36'' freeboard 8' beam 24 degree with a small 3'' pad its been good to me for 18years out in the ocean.

Unless your prop slip is high, you will gain in the midrange and usually loose mph on the top end. You can pick up 4-6 mph in the midrange and loose 2-3 on the top end. Unless you are running 20% slip. They may also loosen up the stern by giving you more stern lift, which can make you chine walking worse. BBlades can work the 5 blades and help them out some. Give Brett a call be can help you more. Just sharing some personal experience.

Nothing against a 24 OL. I used to have one and it was a good boat. Outlawcowgirl owns it now. I just think that pretty much any 24'r with 1000hp and going 100mph is way beyond the safe limit of the hull.

with the chine walk you see it more on the stern lifting props this is a px bow lifting prop if I get it if I get it it would be used for cruising and not wide open speeds I want a 32 or 34 b1 for that I figure I will run mostly 3500 to 4500 which or 50 to 75 for cruising.

I used to run 32" Bravo One 4-bladed props and since 2006 I now run the 30" P5X's (untouched) on Bravo XR's with 230hours no problems----perhaps only having a 32' boat and only 600+hp engines help keep things together.

I DO plan on removing the drives within the next month and have them inspected just for preventative maintenance. While we are in there we will install new bearings/races.

I ran a P5X 31 LH all season on my Baja (Sport 250, Procharged 1078hp) with a Bravo XZ modified by Mr. Gadgets (Dick). I loved it, great cruiser, best run 96mph. It tourqued a little getting on plane then was fine after that besides the evil handling over 90 (but I think that was just from pushing a hull designed for 55 to 60 to far. I am "gentle" getting on plane and don't apply full power until over 70. My Bravo 28 blew out all the time.
