4 blade or 5 blade

Has anybody tried 5 blade on there 292 formula.Was given a heads up about maybe trying 5 blades and getting more holeshot of it with no sacrifies top end

It will sacrifice top end if your 3-4 blade prop is hooked up well.

We have test props to try before you buy if your interested.

I get alot of prop slip.The props now are 4 blade 26s.What would you recommend to start with on the 5 blade.Or would tou recommend another approach like putting more cup into the blade etc...

What is your prop slip percentage now?

How deep is the outdrive... ie prop-shaft depth in relation to the keel of the boat.

What motor(s) ?
Single or twin motors?
How heavy is the boat?
What rpm are you turning now at wide open throttle?
What rpm should the motor be turning?

All of these questions need to be made known in order for someone to give good recommendations.

Brett is a very knowledgable guy, but unless you provide all this stuff, it is a crap shoot.

Generally, 4 blades are faster than 5 blades, if you can hook them up.
If a 4 blade is not hooking up, outdrive spacers are a good option.

I run labbed 28 bravo props on my 292 (6.2 engines and 1.65:1 gear). Been told Merc props are really 1" less in pitch than advertised, so they are really like 27's. This info came from bblades. Good all around performance with the slip being a bit excessive at slower speeds. So I just don't go that slow.
