Horsepower to spin a 33 pitch prop?
Hey guys. I have a single engine boat with a 33 pitch Hydromotive prop that is not lab finished yet. Approximately How much horsepower do you think it would take to spin this prop to 6,000 RPM's?

I have a Baja 272 "really a 25 foot boat" with 730hp I ran a 30p bravo not labed and spun it at 5200, 28 labed spun 5600. Hope that helps. Both were with 1.50 ratio. I am guessing that is what you mean.

A V6 will spin it to 6,000....on the trailer. In the water there are ALOT of variables we need info on. A buddy has a 28 velocity with aprox 550hp and spins a 28 with a 1.50 Bravo. I had nearly 700 spinning 32's to 5,300. You'll need over 800hp to get that prop over 6,000 rpms. (and probably a spare drive or 2)

like everyone has said, type of hull+weight+size
have just as much to do as hp and prop size.
it may only take 400hp to spin that on a 2000lb 18ft cat
but 1000+hp on a 7000lb 29ft deep v..
