Just edited, because I realized it was a johnrude we are talking about, solid hub probably wont work, its got merc splines.

out of curiosity why the old Mirage over the M+

does he say it will be faster? I know it won't carry a heavy load as well,

I have 23 pitch 4 blades on my 300x 's twins on a 31 ft sutphen Probably could use more on mine too but its like a ski boat with these props out of the hole.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Mirage. That prop was around before step bottoms. The Mirage Plus (as I understand) was Mercs attempt to get a prop to hook up on a step bottom.

I just found a set of Mirage Plus props, so I'll try em out. Brett also suggested the Tempest prop. Never heard of that one - what is difference?

I think the Tempest has a slightly smaller diameter, heard they are a little faster than the mirages, but may slip more out of the hole.
