Prop Question 22 scarab
I have a 22 scarab with a 330hp bigblock, bravo drive turning a 23p mirage prop. The prop to me looks a little rough around the edges but there is nothing missing. I have only had the boat for a couple months now but it seems to be off a little. The speedo is broke so I borrowed a buddies tom tom and the fastest I could get the boat was 53mph at 5200 according to the tach. You can barily trim the boat p beforew it starts to blowout. That was with a full tank of fuel and one 130lb passenger. I have read that these motors should only turn 4500-4800 wot. I was thinking of going to a 24p 4blade. Any suggestions??

That's a lot of slip from that prop assuming you have 1.5 drive! I would also check the rpm gauge before buying prop unless you have a buddy with one!
Fwiw.. 5200 r's should be in 67 ish range or so at least!

I am going to call BBblades in the morning and see what they say... Either way I think that boat should be in atleast the mid 60's by what everybody else is saying..

I found a 25 Mirage Plus ran best on my old 22 scarab. 454MPI 330 hp.

the rev limiter is set at 4850 i think , and the boat does good with a labbed 23 mirage plus , it will do 63 mph , might get 1or 2 mph with a 25 , but with a lot of weight in the boat it is hard to get on plane scott

BBLades is great people. Try there loaner program before you buy. It's a option to get exactly what you want for your boat. I did it, and they were extremely helpfull with me to get our boat to go the MPH I wanted out of it!
