Default Rotation Question?

I have a 290 PQ Enticer - twin 502's

i run 26/ 4 blades

I'm looking for advice on prop rotation, and why?

they crrently turn out, and at high speeds the back end gets loose.

I was told it will handle better if i turn them in?

Loose back end may have more to do with the cupping and style of prop than it does with rotation. My experience is that Hydromotives lift the stern more and loosen up the back end while Bravo's lift the bow and keep the back anchored better.

Turning them in generally offers a little more top end but you'll likely lose some control in docking.

Having not been out in your boat to see what's going on, I'm going to guess that turning in would not be better. A 29' boat with twin BBC's is already stern heavy, and unless you have a lot of power, you may not going fast enough to where you need the extra bow lift.

At what speed does it get "loose"

What steering do you have? Go through your rigging and make sure there is no slop in any steering linkages or gimbal pins. Also, check your toe-in. Any of those things could contribute to a loose feeling, but most v-bottoms do "loosen up" at some point once you get the chines out of the water.

It get's loose in the 70's - it jumps on plane QUICK, so that's not a problem.

they are 502's .30 over Dart head, and intakes - 1100 Holly's etc - not sure the HP, but it can hit it around 4200-4500 in the 70's and it takes OFF!!! lol

I just put 280 K-planes on it

I also have full external steering - Mayfair
