New Velocity boat owner here. On my 280 Velocity it does not like the 28 hydromotive that came with the boat. It blows out all the time. I just installed a drive indicator and was going to give it one more try before I sell it. My boat seems to like more trim the faster I go. The hydromotive I have raises the stern of the boat up which would make it want even less trim. I am still seeing what it likes. I have an out of the box 24 Bravo which I use for tubing, water skiing and heavy loads. I also have a labbed 28 Bravo right from Velocity which is a 27 now. My favorite prop is the 24 for all around so far.

Is this a new to you boat? What is the top end speed and RPM.?

With 530 hp you should be running a bigger prop. A 502 mag is usually paired with a 26 hydro. If you hammer a hydro it will break loose. Try being a little easier on the throttle and after you are solidly on plane you can hit it.

Kenny at Velocity can set you up with a good prop guy.

26 Bravo is too small. A Bravo is not rated the same as a hydromotive. A 28 is closer to a 26 hydromotive.

Have fun and good luck

With my 425hp I can spin the 24 bravo to 5000ish rpm at 65-66 mph. With labbed 28 bravo (27) I can spin it to 4900rpm. With 530hp I would think you need a bravo 30.

Hello,

The best set up for your boat is a P-5 X turning left rather than right. The Hydro 4 blade does the best along with the P-5 X on top end, but will slip coming onto plane. The P-5 X will run just as fast with better cruise and no slip onto plane. A flare ring install will cure most of the slip on the 4 blade.

We have a 30 day trial period if you wish to try a P- 5 X, or add a flare ring to your existing prop. Please call for details.

aboozel,

We can loan you a 26 and 28 Bravo 1 without having to purchase a propeller.
We also have Thom's propellers in our try before you buy program if you desire to try them. The 4 blade B1 or Q4 will be faster on the top end than the 5 blade if it is hooked up well with small slip numbers.

What rpm are you looking to turn? A 26 should get you 5000ish. To bad you are not closer to me. I just picked up a bravo 26.
