Any speed increase will depend on how many rpms you actually lose. The slip % should remain pretty constant if just going up 2" of pitch and not switching models of prop.

The down point is losing some throttle response. That will come back with Lab Finishing if desired.

You can replace your tach with one of these, and be sure you are getting accurate rpm info plus a whole lot more information, they make a white bezel for it also for sale on ebay.
