Default Flo Torq hub on King Cobra Drive

I had two props to try while on vaca last week, a 21 Enertia and a 19 Tempest but the hub kit that I was sent does not work with my drive

part number i have is 835265Q02 which is for "Flo-Torq II Hub Kit - Johnson/Evinrude OB & OMC Sterndrives w/ V6, V8 gearcases, Cobra & King Cobra sterndrives 1991 & Newer"

the spacer is 1/2 the thickness of the OMC part on my boat now which is causing interference, if I run try the OMC spacer I do not have enough spline at the end of the shaft for proper mounting

so my question is what Flo Torq hub kit are you guys using to run Merc Props??

it looks like there is some sort of "Carrier Lock" on the drive, i'll try to add a picture

the drive ia a 1992 King Cobra (real king) with a 502

Hi Mark.

I understand you figured out your dilemma?
I hope so. If not, please let me know.

Brett

if I could add a pic i could show you what I found, not sure if it is on all King Cobra drives of this year or something that was added by the previous owner, it is obviously something I have not noticed before

Brett, by the way thanks for getting the props to me prior to my Vaca, you should see them back tomorrow, obviously not your fault I couldn't run them on my boat... would have loved to see what type of difference they would have made, maybe we'll try again when I figure out exactly what is going on on my drive and if it can be/should be removed

The Solas hub kits will take care of your problem. they come with the hub and the require spacer and rest to make it work. they do the same for Volvo's as well. Done hundreds. if needed I can give you the part # or sell you one. Good luck.
