Default Electrical: Two engines one crank battery (MBCM-12)

I have this module (MBCM-12) which has the capability to run a single crank battery for two engines (application 2 in the spec sheet below). I like the idea of having a common 'house' battery bank for all gauges and electrical components running off the same circuit. As it is now I have a port engine circuit, a stbd engine circuit, and a house circuit.

I think what's holding me back is, 1) the fact that both alternators are basically connected together. and 2) because for some reason I'm thinking the gauges (sensors) will be off. Last thing I want is for a temp sensor to be reading 20 degrees off because the voltage going through that engines circuit is coming from the house battery bank.

Any electrical guru's have an opinion on this?
