Thanks,

Anybody know were the boat is now ??

Also like I said earlier not to be pessimistic but that boat would have had to pick up nearly 25 mph by increasing 80 hp perside. for the boat to run 110 with 580hp a side & it would have had to run right at or even a tick or two over 100 mph with its factory 500's... Now that would be efficiancy !!

Most of you guys know I don't post to start crap b/c thats just not me .... but I just don't see 110 mph out of twin 580's happening... & there's probably not too many people on here that would like for those #'s to be correct than me !

It was in Florida, last I knew. I agree with everything you're saying. It was the 85 MPH for $85K boat. Started life with HP465's and got updated to HP500 specs after it won the outstanding offshore performance award.

I totally agree Mesa has a great reputation , I have always heard great things about him & that he treats people very well & thats one reason I was very reluctant to even post anything at all about the claim & almost wish now that I hadn't.... Its just that the numbers don't add up.

Jay's 28 "purple haze" has 650 hawks from his old cig. It runs 88-92.

Funhome, he owned your boat about ten years ago (assuming it is the old 28 race boat with small blocks). I think his screen name here is still apachekid.

??? Doesn't Jay have Hawk 525's refreshed by RPM Performance and now only pushing ~ 550HP running 88-92 and before powered by twin 1100 blower motors?

It did have 1000's or 1100's before he got it. Cant remember on the power, they might be 525's.

Is your boat going to float this weekend?

It should be, I rerigged the fuel pumps like you said and that engine runs excellent (Dam mechanical sea pump fuel pumps!!! cost me allot of money). I am now having a little issue with the trim pumps not working. I need to fire the 2nd new engine tonight or tomorrow morning and drop the timing to 32*. (trim pumps might be the grounding of the 2nd engine)

Back to the subject of this thread, is Jay selling his 28?
