I thought about this just yesterday. Sit down seats, center console. Kind of like the gladiators. When its time for a full restoration I will definitely price that option out. That would be one sick Apache. Hard to maintain the cabin entry though.

Any idea if they are ever going to build these 28's again?

I remember the all white one went for a little less than $30K, had new 502MAG, may have been a jasper. I think $20-25 is a good price. I'd buy one of the ones with twins. Both are priced right and look very well maintained.

1995 saber 28 offshore
the paint on the boat is in good shape a few dock dings in the white (easy fix) tribal has some shading the makes it pop. As for my boat the price would have to be in the 45k range and I would still fell like I was robbed (to many hours to much money and to much fun). the all white ones did sell for around 30k (Iwould know i own one looked at both and know the guy who owns the other)both where a steel just needed the effort to take them to the next level. both of them were plan jane models and both now are completely different so finding the cheaper models is a thing of the past, I would feel safe paying 23 to 25k for the 88 ( what else can you get in that price range that is built to last the test of lake michigan time). the 28 sabers dash is set up wrong for a sit down, it would work if you felt like remolding the lay out of the steering wheel, throttles , and guage angle. real powerboats are ment to stand up in

Unfortunately ... it seems Saber Marine as we once knew it has "ridden off into the sunset " ... The 28 is a boat that really works well for its size and had a strong following. I always thought they should have pushed more of those through there with some marketing and exposure at events ect ... It was the perfect "entry level" offshore powerboat. It would be cool to see somebody aquire those molds and start making the 28 again , but in this economy that is most likely not going to happen ... Happy trails .
