Swim Platform
I own a 1995 31' Thunder.I'am going to remove the factory installed swim platform. Is this going to be a simple operation,and what do I need to watch out for?

Re: Swim Platform
Over a month and no reply. That's just mean. ;-{
I take it you're done by now? I've had mine off to re-build, and only intereting part is fishing the bolt-lock-fender washers through the mechanicals on the transom for the top tension connectors. All the compression attachments at the bottom off the gussets were just big s.s. screws.
I got all new hardware, the s.s. don't corrode, it just stains.

Re: Swim Platform
It was a f-ing pain in the a$$ to get it off.( no pun intended).
I had to use a floor jack and a 2x4 to break it loose,the boat lifted off of the trailer a little.The thing weighed about 250lbs. I'am installing an aluminum one.

Mine came off pretty easy in 5 footers this weekend, in fact we never even knew it was gone until a guest on the boat went to step on it so we could pick up a playing card. I'm obviously in the market and wondering who makes a decent tubular platform for a reasonable price.
Do you have any info and picts?
Thanks in advance.

swim platform
Dear Sirs, I found Dive N Dog has some swim platforms that may suit. they seem to be more varaible than some of the models I have seen and also cheap. I just orders a 3 step with lower platform, plus top platform, fold away with mini step to get over the side of my scarab. Over the other sid eof the engine pod, I am insatllaing a fixed 15 X 20 platform from the same firm.
