more ScarabIII questions
i dont have my boat at home yet and i have a few questions about the hull length, i just brought my "new to me" trailer home and want to do a few things to it before i go drop the boat on it. it was originally under a 312 Stinger and it had a bit (not much though) of room to spare. it has been painted but i think its an older Eagle and it's a triple axle with plenty of load rating.
is the 33' 10" advertised length with the swim platform?
if so what is the actual hull length?
anybody know the origin of the III hull? was it an original when it was introduced?

Re: more ScarabIII questions
mine musta shrank than . . . from the bow eye to the transom it was 30'6" an I eye balled the tape along side the boat and coulda swore it was only like 32' or so (hooked the tape on the trim tab mount). . . i rough guessed it the other night in the partial darkness and was looking for some exact dimensions with and without the platform. i am going back to the marina at some point this week and see if i can get a better measurment. hmmm . . . i think i may have miss read the tape in the dark

Re: more ScarabIII questions
well . . i'll . . .be . . . damned . . . . ITS NOT 33' 10" . . . . i took a 50 foot tape out there and did some measuring.
from the tip of the nose to the transom its 32' 9" (not even 33 feet )
with swim platform overall its 34' 11"
the advertised 33' 10" is the exact length of running the tape measure along the arc of the rubrail from nose to corner at transom. which as far as i'm concerned means absolutely nothing
well . . .on the upside the trailer i picked up will work just fine
geeze . . . now i know what beak boaters feel like
