i have an 88 excel 28 that i recently purchased, and i can only seem to squeeze 64-65 on the gps on lake mead. the motor is supposed to be a 650 hp stroked 454, but i was guessing more like 550... any ideas? im about at my wits end with tuning, and im about ready to start buying parts now. any ideas to get me going in the right direction would be great. id love to find all the "free" horsepower i can before i start building some, such as prop, x dimension, etc... any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!
