1984 30' Scarab S-type with twin 502's ------ 1974 21' Tahiti Jet with a 502
Anyone converted a 30' s-type to a single Engine

I am looking at purchasing my first scarab. It is a 1977 30' S-type. It is currently equiped with 2 350's and 2 trs outdrives. Has anyone ever converted this size of a boat over to a single engine. Something like a 502. If so what are you seeing for speeds?

On a side note what does a 30' with 2 350's see for speeds?

1992--34 SCARAB
I think that if you convert it to a songle engine boat it will be real slow unless you put a LOT of HP in it. And then it will just break drives.

These motors are also rubbed. Estimated horsepower is 320ea. The boat also has TRS drives which I hear are better then a bravo!

Here is a pic!

29' Scarab, Whippled
I have a buddy who has one, he's seeing low 70's with twin 502's and bravo's, very heavy. Good rough water boat though.
