Scarab III seat re-upholstery proj.

i never liked the style of the factory rear bench seat in my 88 scarab 3, so i went ahead and redesigned it. I did everything myself, and it was my first attempt at upholstery work. i'm really happy with the results.

here's a pic of the old seat...

and in with the new

I like the clean lines of the seat. Now if only the seat made it faster.

Just kidding.

Great looking work.

Nice job. I have the exact same colors on my interior. I hate the way my sun pad meets the rear bench. You did a nice job blending the sun pad with the top of the bench.

I was looking through some old posts on redoing upholstery and saw yours from 08. I know it was a while ago but hopefully you can give me some advice. I want to redo some of my scarab vinyl also. I also have never done it but may give it a shot.

I assume you sewed your new stuff, what kind of machine or information on things needed can you give me?

Is there any difference you found in vinyl, quality, thickness or what not?

How are things after time?

I guess really anything you may have from your experience I would be grateful for.

I tried to private message but your inbox was full
