any 30 footer made into race boats

hey guys

where there any 30 ft race boats and has anyone turned one into a race set up weather it be the seating or dash, who has done changes,

i though i seen one with a 3 man

Also are there any years to stay away from,
what year are the better boats. were the hulls all the same on the 30's

what speeds did they do and how are they in the water

Hallo Len,
bought Jeff Brown's overall US Production Class Champion Boat "Pure Insanity" P-38. She's got Kaama drives on her and was re-done by a fellow by the name of Don Noble of Mission Viejo, CA. He had the 1984 Production Class World Record set with her and he won many races in the mid to late 80's with her.
She was built with very sophisticated construction solutions by Larry Smith with the intention of being indestructible in heavy ocean conditions. Boat is in great shape (gelcoat, hardware, drives, trim, upholstery etc.), but needs new engines, dash re-installed, upholstery re-done in the lower bunk area and a newer trailer. If interested I will have pictures in a few weeks. Didn't plan to sell this legendary boat, but just bought one of the 2008 Round Britain Race participating boats, so my time is getting limited.
