I think buy u boy still wants to sell his, but you might have to give him a reach around. It's got an upgraded engine and I hae seen it run 75. He says it goes faster. It might. It's a cool little boat.
PM him and see.

i just have to go see how much insurance is on one of them, i cant imagine it'd be too much.

Don't be affraid of older boats, look at how theyy have been taken care of.My Scarab is almost 18 yrs old and is in better shape than alot of the newer boats I see on our lake here,
Good luck with your search.
Maybe you can look for a 21 Excel,They seem to have been built just a little better than the 22's.Also look for the 23 SCS a little harder to find but awesome little boats, and fast

I wouldnt have a problem with an older boat, but twin everything is twice as much that could or will go wrong.
side note, last weekend i was on my friends boat watching the hydroplane races and some guy idled up in a 1991 26 scarab with a 540. man that was a pretty boat and sounded awesome.

Those are cool boats. Good for all around use.
Don't worry about buy u being 1200 miles away. If you send him a check, he would be 600 miles away in less than 24 hours.

I've been thinking about selling my 1989 21' Scarab Excel. It's all original with 320 original hours on it. The finish is faded some, but she polishes up nice and runs like a top.

Got a 96 Scarab 22 with 7.4/454 for sale. Just replaced the floor in the cockpit area with marine plywood, new carpet, new Jensen speakers with 80% new upholstery. Motor has freshwater cooling, complete MSD, Hardin SS risers, Edelbrock manifold & carb, new water pump, large aftermarket oil cooler. Lots of other stuff including 3 SS props. Custom graphics. Custom bunk trailer just updated. I live in southern MD. Email me @ edspringer1@aol.com if you want more info, price or want to come look at it.

I had a 22 for 10 years. Great boat. 350 MAG ran at 5000 rpms everywhere and never had a problem.
Still have original set of competition graphics for bow of boat if anyone is interested. Bought them as replacements for the original faded ones but never installed them.
