Spent a lot of time on a Scarab III. They're a good boat. Between the two I have to say I prefer my KV.

From what I have heard some of the Scarab III's had a hook in the bottom so they would not be as fast with the same power. If you are comparing the Scarab III to a raised deck 38 scarab the cabins look to be about the same size so it really boils down to price and overall condition.
