Scarab history?

Is there anywhere that I can find a history of Scarab boats that breaks down the differences by year and model? I have been looking at a couple of old 30 foot units, and am wondering about the differences in styles, ect...by year. Anything in particular I should RUN from?

larry smith started team scarab. he then licensed wellcraft to use the name and some of his designs. if the boats hin# starts with WEL its a wellcraft. "old 30 units" you say. be sure to get a moisture meter on the transom and stringers to check for rot before you buy. the old wellcrafts are very heavy so plan on big power for speed. trs drives are another place you may need to upgrade. my point is you could buy a boat for one penny and it may take 50k to get it the way you want. guess what you could have bought for 50k from the start?
