38' Scarab P-38
Scarabs at Lake Elsinore Sunday 4/19???

I mentioned it on another post. But, I am going to Elsinore to test and adjust my '38 this Sunday. It would be cool if a few other Scarabs came down and mingled. If you haven't been there, there is a cool hang out spot on the far end of the lake. It can be seen in my avatar. Anyhow, just a thought. I'll be out there probably around 12:00 or so. Getting it ready for next weeks river trip ( hopefully).... Mike

38' Scarab P-38
Went out to Elsinore Sunday. I ran into a fellow Scarab owner (just by chance) with a P-31. (what are the chances of that). He was there with his wife .We talked for a while , great guy here in the group, has had his boat for quite a few years. Also talked to a guy that new Justin (former owner f my current boat).Today I talked to my boat mechanic friend who was out in Dana Point and he said he saw my old boat (31' Fittipaldi Scarab). The guy I sold it to 2 year ago sold it last year as his wife developed cancer right after they bought it from me (sadly she passed away in just the last month or so).
My boat ran great first half if the day. Then after parking in the cove at the south end of the lake for a couple of hours the starboard motor (the one I just put a blower and map sensor on) didn't want to start. I unplugged the injectors (I smelled a lot of gas) and cranked it, it started for about 15 seconds until it used up all the fuel in the motor. I plugged the injectors back in and it ran for about 20 seconds until it flooded out. Soooo, brought it in on one motor, and today I plugged in a 2 bar map sensor out of an '88 Isuzu I-mark turbo I had laying around and the motor ran perfect. Soooo, I guess I have to warranty the map sensor and WILL be taking the 20 year old Isuzu sensor to Havasu as a back up !!!

I'd recognize a 23' Scarab a mile away. I was always intrigued with them ever since I had my 22' 10 years ago. 10:30 when? We are going up tomorrow night, so we will probably be in the channel around 8am or so Friday. Mike

Did you make it out to Havasu on Saturday? My boat ran fine on Friday, but blew the 90amp thermal fuse on the starter(port motor) on Saturday morning about 8:30 AM. So I pulled it out of the water and had the guys at Absolute Marine fix it. I didn't get back onto the water until about 3:00PM. I looked for a 23' in the channel but did not see one
