Default Need plexiglass cabin hatch for 2000 Scarab Sport

Anyone know where to find OEM parts? Mine has cracked and I am not anxious to have one fabrcated from fiberglass.

You might want to try somewhere like Henderson Glass to see if they can fabricate one out of plexi. Finding one used would be optimal, but it's usually difficult. Not anxious to try the fiberglass fabrication yourself?

I actualyl found someone in Sarasota area to bend/mold a new one from Acrylic. He took my old to mimic the shape. Came out nice. It's slightly thinner than the original.

I also decided not to bore holes for the barrel locks, which broke long ago. Instead, I put some stainless slide clasps on each side and replaced the gas springs. Now it tries to stay open unless the clasp is used.

Also, I placed a "no step" sign on it. I'll get the contact information and post it soon.

is it a bomar hatch? look for a decal on top or under the lid. sometimes have model # on frame somewhere.
if bomar go to www.pompanette.com and they will show what to measure for correct fit.
good luck

I just made mine from the actual plastic one, made a mold and built one from reinforced fiberglass, you can jump on it.

I have the same problem. I didn't lock the hatch down, went out onto rough water. The hatch opened and slammed down cracking it in half. I have it taped with shrinkwrap tape. How much did it cost for the fabricated replacement?
