I'm making a pair right now for my 34. I have trs. I'm moving the motors back and putting the trannies in the box. I'm looking at putting the prop shafts 3" higher. Still figuring how far back to go.

What are the reasons for adding boxes? I'm interested in this thread, I hope some guys chime in here.

Increases running surface, allows for the X dim to be raised, and puts the prop in different water.

Thanks, do they run flush with the bottom of the boat? Like an extension of the hull or does it increase the gap between the end of the hull and the drive?

They act like a notched transom.
They are not flush with the bottom of the boat.

You need to start a thread on this project. You have any cad for those boxes? of just fabbing them up as you go?

No cad, just the old fashion way, cardboard patterns soap stone and a plasma cutter.

There are a couple companies who make boxes with trannies in them... Unless you are doing for pure project entertainment - which I understand.
