Not to get off topic (too much LOL) but what is the overall length of the 26 Scarab, and what is the dead rise on them.

btw Philster, nice looking boat... congrats!!

Like the others have said, you need to trim the out drive (OD) up after getting on plane. I have a 23 foot Wellcraft Nova and after 6-7 seasons with her I know where the sweet spot is on the OD trim gauge. Just takes a little practice and or getting used to.

Good luck and have fun with the new ride!!

anyone know how these newer 26 scarabs compare to the older 26 scarab cv's? How similar are they? Which is faster/handles better?

Got your PM today, my boat looks exactly the same. The person I bought the boat from took out the red exhaust canisters and just ran 4" hose with a couple of elbows to the stock outlets, sounds great, not too loud (haven't been pulled over at LOTO or on the Mississippi river where I normally boat) With the exhaust outlets turned down it gives it a very distinctive sound, my friends always know when I am coming before they can see me.
I ran a 23p mirage at 1st - speedo showed 62-65, but i didn't like how it handled, seemed to blow out in the turns. I now run a 24 bravo 1 and like how it runs much better. Speedo reads 62-66 dep on temp and load, but midrange speed and cruising efficiency improved a lot, with no blowout in the turns. A 25p may be a little high if you run with a lot of fuel and/or people on a reg basis.
Definitely trim it up, my boat likes lots of trim, 4-7 on the gauge unless it gets really rough, I can trim it to 9 with out blowing it out but it starts to get squirrley and I don't like running that much trim angle Good luck its a fun boat !!

The next best thing you can do is get a trim switch in the throttle handle. Only having trim on the dash in this kind of boat is dangerous. Sooooo much better having control of throttle and trim with one hand at the same time. Ordered an aftermarket switch that fit on the exsisting handle, and ran black phone line as a jumper from the trim switch in the dash.

I would ditch the exhaust canisters as well. I had them in my 22 yrs ago. I took them out and gained about 2 mph as I recall. Less weight (they hold alot of water) and better exhaust flow.

Either way, make sure you drain them during winterization. they will likely freeze and crack if you dont.
