Default Scarab II Throttles/Shifters

Just picked up a set of 4 lever billet controls by Livorsi from the marine flea market. Has anyone converted from the old mercontrol twin stick to these that could offer any tips when i do the install? I was told by Livorsi that I will need all new cables so other than that if anyone is familiar with this setup please let me know what im getting into! Thanks

You will need new cables, and depending on the shifter you got, you will need the specific cable ends for your new Livorsi controls. Hopefully your new shifter came with the ends, when I did my conversion my shifter didn't, and Mercury Racing gets like $32 a piece for each end(they see you coming on that one) Almost all the new shifters run the 33 cable- which is pretty common, so all you have to do is pull your old ones out and measure them to order new ones. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Have fun-

Scott

thanks for the info. your console looks great! what length cables did you use? did the existing hole require any modifications to fit the new control assembly?

I want to say I used one 17', two 19' and one 21, but I really can't remember for sure. I would measure yours, you have to pull them out anyway, and everyone's setup is a little different. I had to modify the dash by cutting the fiberglass, it wasn't too bad to do. Good luck-
