Default Need some advice on a 29' scarab

im looking at a 29' scarab with twin 350's, I've had a 31 scarab excel and loved the boat, got out of boating for a little while and now im getting back into it. i've had a few friends who have owned 29' scarab who abs hated them. i was wondering why such the bad rep with these boats, what are the ups and downs with these boats? thanks

The guy I know that has one loves it. The only downside I can image is that it's takes big power to make them move

Default scarab

I had a 97 29 scarab and my only problem I had with it was a single engine that took 825hp and a 2 inch shorty to get it to run 85mph other than it was a great rough water boat

It's no rocket ship. A fun solid boat. I have had one for 9 years and a bud has had one for longer. I can take a nice long cruise and the fuel is very easy on the wallet. Easy to trailer as thats what I do. I can think of as many pros as cons but thats a boat. I'm very happy with mine.
