Default 2002 Scarab 33' AVS with twin 496

Can anyone tell me what the price of this boat was new in 2002??

I am trying to trade it in on another boat and the dealer is telling me that this boat was 125000.00 new in 2002 and I think that's wrong.

That price was with no extra options You can tack on another 25 or 30 to that price. $175,000. Then they discounted off that price. But it means nothing today - lucky to get $75,000.00
maybe $50,000. depends on motors and drives.....

This probably pretty accurate. I have the original invoice from mine in 2000. My boat with almost all options available and the 600s had an invoice of $174k.

What were they looking to give you as trade-in value?

They are telling me that the trade in value would be 75000 so I guess I am putting it for sale. I would let it go for that price because it would save me from hauling it to florida....

Just my opinion, but in this market if their going to give you 75k trade I'd take it, and just work them down more in price of the new boat.

I agree. I think you're reasonably looking at $50-65K for your boat, especially if you want to sell it reasonably fast (in the next 6 months). If you're willing to sit on it for a while you may get more, but I think it's highly unlikely. All of the 33's on here have been listed for a while and all are priced at less than $75k. Sure, they're a couple years older, but they also don't have 496's in them.

They're probably giving you a good deal on the trade-in just to make the sale on your "new" boat. The ACV on your boat, IMO, is much less than $75k. Don't believe me? Post it on Ebay 10-15 times and see what you get...
